December Dresses

Chiffon Dress by ASOS

Hello, December!

Can you believe it? Winter is in the air, and holiday tunes are jingling in our local stores already. If you're like me, holiday planning is already in the works, and that means shopping for gifts and maybe a holiday dress or two. We deserve to treat ourselves, after all!

It's still early with much time left to pick out the perfect holiday dress for any type of family, friend, or work gathering.

These 2 dresses were inspiration for fitting both a casual Christmas gathering with some friends and a fancier Holiday party dream outing. Red and green were obvious colors to look at, but of course there are neutrals and other sparkly styles that work great for holiday dress-up!

This red number above is semi-formal and is equipped with an elastic waist band (and optional belt), allowing you slightly more room to snack on those Moonstruck chocolates and peppermint schnaps without having to worry so much!

Green Sequins by ASOS
For the super fancy work party or some dream-celebrity bash you can sneak into, this second dress does any holiday party some sexy justice. The low-dip in the back shows off some skin, but not too much as the dress is generous in length.

Who doesn't like to dress up in sparkling sequins and dazzle into the holidays like this? -------->

Both of these gems are ASOS dresses, and were found on us.asos.com

Costume Challenge

Mary Poppins via Lauren Conrad

We all know Lauren has adorable style and has proved herself fashion-worthy (long after The Hills ended). We knew she wasn't just messing around, she had some skills.

Speaking of skills, take a look at her adorable take on a timeless classic - the Mary Poppins costume.

This simple DIY is complete with just a handful of easy-to-find items: a black hat, red bow tie, white button-up, a black skirt and tights. Let's not forget a signature umbrella to complete the ensemble!

From fitness & cooking to fashion & crafts, her website shows off all of her talents; including her very own colorful fashion line at Kohls. She's an IT girl, no doubt.

Shop Lauren's boutique for cute graphic sweaters and such this season, and happy costuming!

Emmy has Edge

NYC Fashion Show

Emmy Rossum shines in this gorgeous all-black (almost) pairing of pants and lacey top! Leather and faux-leather have been popping up a lot these days, and I'm happy to see more people stepping up to the 'dangerous' side.

A perfect match of edge and class, she keeps it simple with colors and patterns, but powerful in her style statements.

For a fashionista celeb, I say she passes
with an A+. She's just gorgeous.

Staz in Style

S T A Z

..and bouffant hair!

Meet Model Staz Lindes, posing here in a vintage throw-back coat and retro up-do.

I love everything about this photo - the vintage 60's look, the warm reds, and especially that hairstyle!

I was so inspired, I found some easy steps on how to get my hair somewhere close to this sexy bouffant hair-do:

Mellow Yellow

For all seasons

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I know, I know... Fall is here (or near) but this yellow 3-quarter sleeve is winning, always.

It's easy and fun to dress up in layers and pop the jewelery and accessories when you have a bold, simple color to work with.

Time to move in those soft, Fall yellows and take out the neons from summer, am I right?

I wish I had her killer legs, but hey, some tights would do the trick in my case!
