Cheers to 2015!

Black and White Class & Sass

Happy 2015, everyone!

For fashion, this year has had a bit of everything - funky tassels, faux fur, classy dresses and so much more. To toast off the new year, I put together a simplistic outfit of black and white class. I thought of the sequined dresses, tight black skirts and something with gold glitter, but just thought - why spend the money on something new and fancy to wear only this one night? Instead, I went with a classy look of layers that still says "formal" without spending the big bucks.

ON TOP:
- Detachable black pearl peter pan collar - brand unknown
- Long sleeve white Forever 21 basic top (a must-have for layering!)

ON BOTTOM:
- Bow shorts by 2bRych - thrifted from Crossroads Trading Co. How cute is that ribbon bow?
- Spandex by Target, technically thrifted from Goodwill!
- Ankle boots found at Plato's Closet by Codify

Cheers to next year's newest trends and new styles that will amaze us all! I can't wait.

Oh Deer!

Into the Woods

Brrr! Time for cozy sweaters and boots for days as the Fall is handing off cool winds to Winter. There are endless possibilities with trendy sweaters and nearly-knee high boots in neutral shades of brown and blacks. This simple outfit was thrown together due to my mindset of being a bit cold, yet excited for the holidays. (It's a happy medium).

Thrifted last weekend from Crossroads Trading Co, this adorable sweater creates a cutesy winter vibe and is soft as a blanket of snow. Can be an easy to put on 3-piece outfit any day in Fall!

Isn't this deer the cutest? Such a retro look. & Guess what? The sweater is originally from ModCloth! This makes so much sense as I am happily obsessed with all things ModCloth.

Sweater Weather: Sugarhill Boutique brand (Modcloth)

Deer, Far, Wherever You Are

Stretchy Jeans: Target's brand- Red Blue Jeans

Boots: Unknown brand / thrifted from Plato's Closet

Happy Halloween... you Beasts!

Cruella De Vil is in the house this year.

I have to say, I wanted to be Cruella before I found out Iggy was the same thing last year! Either way, I refreshed up on 101 Dalmatians and chose the Glenn Close version to imitate versus the cartoon. Red eye shadow, thick eyeliner, red, bold lipstick for the makeup. Bright red tights match the satin gloves and the in-seam of the coat to make for a 3-power color combo costume. It was so much fun to put together! Props are from amazon and faux dalmatian coat was hand-made by my friend Annie.

Cruella - so fashionably brilliant; it kills.

ALL PROPS
- Cigarette holder (amazon)
- Red Gloves (amazon)
- Wig! (amazon)
- Tights
- Dalmatian Print Coat
- Black Ankle Heels (more modern!)

Hope everyone has a fun, spooky night! And shout out to all those Cruella's out there! ;)

Army Green Machine

Relaxed and Ready for Fall

As the leaves change colors and the air turns crisp, it's time for sweater weather. I have so many sweaters I've been longing to wear and am stoked to mix styles with them.

This black sweater purposely has random stretched holes to make a grunge appeal, but don't be fooled - it's still extremely comfortable and warm! (Thrifted from Plato's Closet). The Wet Seal (thrifted) boots you see here go with so many outfits and colors! Since they're brown, they works great as another neutral in this black and green set and make the outfit much more flattering than how it'd look with flats.

NOT ORDINARY SHORTS

On the bottom are.....

....wait for it.....

Official Boy Scouts of America army-green shorts! What are the chances I would land some semi-high-waisted shorts for only $12 bucks that are official Boy Scouts wear? (Purchased from Buffalo Exchange). The color is to die for and the style is both vintage and trendy. Who knows the history behind these shorts...some may say it's weird, but I say it's RAD!

Until next time! - xoxo Linds

Cat's Meow

COZY CAT VIBES

You know when you discover a treasure like this, it was just meant to be. This is seriously the coolest sweatshirt I've ever found. I love all it's kitty unique-ness and cozy vibes! I lucked out at Crossroads with this tagless, thrifted number, and am excited in a way not to know where it came from. It seems like a Japanese brand, but I am not sure if it's hand-made or not - making it a fashion mystery.

Speaking of mysteries, there was a little surprise on/in the sweatshirt. Equipped with a cat-eared hood with the text "CAT'STORY," I realized the sweatshirt is even more than meets the eye - and tells the story of a cat getting something. That something is hidden in the front pouch! Scroll down to see what happens when you unzip it...

Very pikachu-like hood!

<--- That's right. The cat gets hungry and eats some fishes...making him happy(?!)

These details are just too much!

From cat ears to quirky text to front pouch fish surprises, this is officially the cutest sweatshirt on the planet. Meow!

Hello, Fall.

Fall-ing in love.

Let's bring out those fun layers and fall tones back into our wardrobes! I am so excited to bust out soft oranges, mustard yellows, browns and fun peacoats (peacoat posts to come...) For layering, there are limitless options that allow us to keep wearing skirts, dresses and shorts during the weather-changing Autumn, cool nights. Stay cute and cozy with tights, fun sweaters, and autumn colors!

WORN ON BOTTOM: Navy blue shorts over black nylons

WORN ON TOP: I layered a pink-collared & flower-embroidered blouse underneath a dark short-sleeve mustard sweater from Forever 21. It's both 70's and Fall loveliness all at once.

Cats and Stars, from Jupiter to Mars

GALAXY CAT APPEAL

This post is over the top, just for fun - featuring cats and space as a theme. (Uh, 2 of my favorite things!) Amazon.com did not disappoint with this radical cat dress (sold online many places!)

Here I'm rocking a grey beanie since I'm slowly learning that wearing them with certain dresses can work.  Especially in this case where the grey matches the great cat! I don't do it often, but I may start to wear beanies with things since it's a fun, cool, casual vibe. It changes the entire look and created a more hipster versus cute feel. The heels are barely noticeable, but create a more flattering look on the legs since the dress is an awkward length and is more about the cat face than anything else...let's face it ;)

P.S. I'm ultra-inspired by Lookbook for this style! I'm seeing beanies everywhere and I am loving it!

Wild and Free

Boho Chic

I'm feeling free in this a boho look for the last few unofficial days of summer. Giving off both a music festival and hippie vibe, this tasseled polyster top and jean short combo makes for one wild and free pair.

Speaking of pairs, this pair of studded ankle boots was worn but not pictured in the photo for a great country appeal - adding to the boho-chic. The boots were thrifted from Plato's Closet - originally from Wet Seal. I love the zippers (which are on both sides) along with the little studs on the backs!

Oh hey, boooots!

As long as the weather suits, keep the summer hippie vibes alive!   - Linds

Dark natural under-tops work well with the tan long boho top for soft layering. For slightly even more casual, wearing thin sandals can keep this hippie look alive as an alternative to the boots. Gotta love options!

Pink Floyd Void

PINK FLOYD RULES. (Duh)

Yes, the tank is trendy since it's a graphic tank and Forever 21 is blowing up with them - but I have to say to me it's authentic too since I am a huge fan and grew up with Pink Floyd echoing down the halls and in my ears.

I love the edgy feel of the muscle tank through the shoulder studs, and how casual yet 'punk' the top can be. Paired with simplistic black jeans to keep it dark, the outfit beats out your ordinary tank and jeans.

And, with mint Vans to boot? The 3 items together make for one fun power outfit to any show or bar scene.

Plus, it's so easy to throw together last minute while still showing some rock style.  The tank is loose fitting so that you'll feel - dare I say - comfortably numb. ;)

I definitely hopped on the (almost) Vans bandwagon since I found this mint colored pair of Canvas Authentic classics thrifted from Plato's Closet for half the price! Couldn't walk away without these gently used sneaks. Such awesome shoes to complete the look and add the only pop of color needed.

Rock on, gents. - Linds

Mint Flower Hour

This dress hit the Target on gorgeous color and vintage appeal.

Modern Day Mint

The detailed embroidery on these flowers is incredible! A 60's-era dress meets modern day bridesmaid. Either way, you can't help but feel classy in this - flowers, polyester pastel shades and all. The brand is Target: "Xhilaration Junior's Daisy Organza Dress" (SOLD OUT!)

As you know, mint is popping up left and right, as well as so many pastels. Vibrant not only to wear, but to look at. The bright yet soft shades of color make every girl feel fun and elegant at the same time. Who wouldn't want to brighten up their closet a little bit?! Whether you are going to a dinner party or flirting with danger, let's keep mint going.  xo - Linds

90's Life

JEAN VEST 90's IMPRESSION

This frey-hem washed denim vest is making a comeback. It can be worn with so many items in so many fresh ways. Take the relaxed, open look above as a trendy example and the picture down below as summer-night-out to play look. While bringing a sense of comfort and nostalgia, this jean vest creates a feel of cute meets grungy.

Paired with boots for a semi-country appeal.

With so many shades of blue, you can't go wrong with one of these vests to set your own jean jacket trends.

Happy Denim Days! :) - Lindsey

A White & Black Affair

Hair down, purse out for look #1

This outfit almost looks as if it's a sassy white cropped top paired with a skirt, but it's actually an all-in-one colorblock dress for a an easy summer night out on the town. The side cut-outs make for a little playfulness without overdoing a full skin-reveal made by a cropped top. Sometimes it's a little risqué to get a dress with cut-outs, but showing a little skin never hurt anyone. The medium-sized striped handbag is made by a funky designer fav, Betsey Johnson, but resembles Kate Spade as my friend Annie pointed out. :) The centered subtle bow and cute trim make the purse pop with detailed class- far cuter than just stripes on a bag.

Lose the bag and put the hair up for a simple, classier feel!

Simple Striped Love.

I can't express how much I love this handbag! You can't see it now, but it has the longer strap tucked in for an over the shoulder option. It's bigger than most bags I own, but it was too darn cute to say no to. Plus, you can't go wrong with a black and white combo purse since it goes with pretty much any outfit. The price you ask? Only $40.00 at TJ MAXX. What a good deal, for real.

Sometimes it's fun to switch up your purse routine so you have options with your daily outfits. Once in a while, treat yourself and don't be afraid of the price as many designer bags are sold for much less than their websites list! Get inspired: One of my fav sites to scroll through is ShopStyle.

Stay Classy everyone!   xoxo - Lindsey

Working Class

SheInside blouse keeps up with the bright red leather skirt with its unique style and details, not to mention amazing shade of light yellow. The embroidered collar shines with gold bead details; the sheer block of fabric attached to the top adds some flavor, and the long flowing sleeves maximize comfort. I'd definitely say suitable for a creative office work outfit with the big black bag to boot (from Italy!) After all, a little sassiness never hurt anyone!

Purple Haze

This day is all about easy-chic. Polyester meets faux leather for the ultimate swing skirt on bottom, equipped with a pastel purple up top. I could live in this  J.Crew Tee - meant for casual wear but easily classed up with a skirt! Who says tees can't be classy? This is not your only-wear-with-jeans tee. Don't be afraid to mix and match styles as they end up balancing for a soft, cute look worth writing home about.

Hair down...

...or buns up!

Shades of 70's

With summer slowly fading into fall, I'm on the verge of neutrals and 70's mod. I saw these Target tights on triple discount at Goodwill and thought, why not? I don't own anything else that's orange so better go with some colorful tights to color block an outfit and make it pop! Yellows, oranges and browns make for pretty autumn hues that are both vibrant and eye-catching.

Red Shoes & Roses

Polka dots, red casual kicks and some matching flowers for a chic yet sporty look. Perfect for playful summer days! Dress is thrifted from Plato's Closet, but is of course, Forever 21 brand. No shame no game - the shoes believe it or not are from Wal Mart (eh) back from 2008! Since they look like cute red Keds, I've kept 'em all these years to fill with great summer memories.

Red, White & Blue

World Cup Inspired

Retro USA Summer outfit
Go USA! Showing my pride today in red, white and blue. Who says you can't show pride and still be fashionable? I bought this red cropped top from Forever 21 and rocked the retro high-waisted blue pants with it for a patriotic spin. Still with no white, I have simple black heels, dressing it up a notch. Heels look more flattering with the style of pants to make the legs look even longer! (It's a great illusion, ha!)

Bat Nights

Duh nuh nuh nuh...

I've always loved Batman and wanted to show off my love besides one day a year for Halloween. So, I finally gave in to my inner geek and bought this Batman bodysuit from Forever 21. It's not overpowering like the superhero styles we sometimes see, and instead of a full costume get-up, it's fun to just have one single piece that displays your love for your favorite superhero. It's fun to mix this patterned playsuit with shorts, a black skirt, or with jeans. It can be joined with a cardigan for an extra-hipster feel on cooler days and summer nights. Playful, fun and a little grungy - in the best way.

Flats, tights, bodysuit and shorts are all Forever 21 brand, and brand spankin' new!

Summer Outings

Here is one of my fav dresses -  a lace-embroidered light teal dress with the most darling of buttons. It's comfortable, stretchy up top, yet fitted at the waist for a cute form. (Please disregard the poor lighting and quality of the photo!)

Perfect for summer, here is the dress again on my sweet red and white cruiser and I am so stinkin' excited for some summer rides! I won't let anything stop me from wearing my favorite summer dresses and outfits just because I'm on a bike. These ladies show you how it's done -  colour me classic's blog!
